SUNDAYS AT FIRST BAPTIST

Everyone is welcome to worship with us at First Baptist Church, and Sunday morning is the time we set aside to gather as a family to hear and apply God’s Word, to worship God through lively music, singing and prayer, and to encourage one another in Christ. Our Bible study classes and worship service are open to any age, stage, and walk of life. You may wonder what to expect on your first visit to FBC. Below are some questions you may have with, hopefully, some helpful answers. And of course, you’re always welcome to call the church office at 636.239.6209.

Sundays

What time is your Sunday Service?

We gather every Sunday at 10:30 AM for our Worship Service. If you’re looking for a class to help you

understand the Bible, we have several Bible Study classes for all ages that meet

during our Sunday School hour beginning at 9:00 AM.

Where are you located and where should I go when I get there?

Our church is located at 111 E. 14th St. in Washington, MO. You can park in either lot located on both sides

of our church. Then, head to the double glass doors where one of our greeters will gladly

meet and help you get where you need to go.

What is a Worship Service like at First Baptist?

Our priorities are to know God, enjoy Him, and make Him known. And that’s the priority of our worship service. Our praise team loves to lead and encourage those who gather to sing rich songs that make much of God and strengthen our weary hearts in him. Every sermon is grounded in the Bible emphasizing the Good News that Jesus Christ came to save sinners like us, and empower us to know, enjoy, and make Him known.

Once a month, we celebrate the Gospel by taking the Lord’s Supper.

What do you have for children?

During our 10:30 AM worship service, we offer safe and caring childcare for children ages 5 and under.

Of course, you’re welcome to keep your children with you during service. During Bible study classes,

we have classes for every age, from newborn to 12th grade.

What should I wear to your church?

We don’t have a dress code but simply delight in having you with us. Folks who come dress appropriately in anything from ‘their Sunday best’ to t-shirts & jeans.

Do I have to consider myself a Christian to attend?

No, not at all. Anyone at any stage in their spiritual journey is invited and encouraged to come. Our hope though is that you find your ultimate hope in knowing and believing Jesus Christ and what He’s done for you!

Am I expected to give money if I attend?

No. We encourage giving as a cheerful act of worship for our members and regular attenders, but not for visitors. We do pass an offering plate during our service for our members but please do not feel pressured to give.

Your presence is your gift to us. We’re glad you want to be here.

Do you livestream your Worship Service?

Yes, every Sunday you can view our Worship Service on our YouTube channel or you can watch previous services.

How can I get involved at First Baptist?

Along with our Sunday school classes, our Wednesday prayer meeting at 6:30 PM is a great place to connect with others and bring any prayer requests you have. Also when requested, we offer a Starting Point class that introduces visitors to FBC and offers an opportunity to meet new folks in a small setting.
