FBC Update 5.19.20

Hello FBC,

This past Sunday we had about 60 people in attendance on campus. It was so encouraging to see faces, hear voices and experience a worship time together again. Apologies to you who were ready to watch the live-stream at 10:30am. We were ready to go when the internet had a hiccup. There were 24 households ready to join the live-stream. That is so cool.

In the worship center, seating was assigned to tables and worked very well. Those attending received instruction prior to the attending so they knew what to expect. Masks were optional and social distancing was observed. The service lasted about 50 minutes total. Arriving early was encouraged so we could get everyone seated and start the live-stream on time. Dismissal by tables is how the service was concluded and members fellowshipped out in the parking lot as they departed.

If you plan to join us from home this week, streaming will be up and running. We’ll use text messaging to communicate with everyone if we encounter any video troubles. If you are not apart of our FBC group text service, please let us know in the church office.

We will add a second service this week to accommodate all those interested in gathering on campus at FBC. Guests will be welcomed and seating arrangements will be made for all who attend. In order to accomplish this we will need our members to sign-up for a service time as quickly as possible by contacting the church office with your name, number attending and service time preference. You may email chris@fbcwashmo.com or call 636.239.6209.

Services will be held at 9am and 10:30am this week. We are keeping the length to under an hour. The main restrooms will be open. A cleaning team will disinfect doors, contact points, tables and chairs between services.

Our college students had a good time as they gathered on the parking lot last Sunday night for fellowship and singing. For those involved in student ministry, Super Summer has been officially cancelled for 2020. Plans are being made for a potential retreat with other churches in our area for a late July date. Ms. Laura sent an email to families who might be interested in a “Praise Pack” for children attending services on campus. Please let us know if you are interested by this Friday or contact Laura at laura@fbcwashmo.com for more information. You won’t want to miss out on the Family Trivia night on zoom this Friday. This is open to all families with children 6th grade and under. Please let us know if you will be joining us on campus for prayer meeting this Wednesday night at 6:30pm.

Because of Christ,

Pastors Bob and John
